Last year was very busy both on and off the courts. A lot of work went on to secure planning permission for floodlighting and this was finally achieved just before Christmas. Part of the process included the commissioning of an ecology report and findings from this meant that we will only be able to have lighting on the two courts nearest to the clubhouse.
Whilst our main priority as a club is the continued increase in membership across all age groups we now need to raise sufficient monies for court lighting to be installed. Our challenge is to raise just over £33,000 and applications for funding have already been submitted so please keep your fingers crossed.
Our increased membership meant that we were able to enter four teams in the Gainsborough Evening League and they did not let us down! The First team retained their place in Division 1 as did both the Second and Third teams in Division 2. Our newly formed Fourth Team gained promotion by winning Division 3 and to top off a great season, the Second team won the League Knockout Cup for Divisions 2 and 3. Well done to all!
