The 2017 Wheatley Tennis Club open day will be held on Saturday, the 8th of April at 2.00pm and we look forward to welcoming both existing and new members. Don't worry if you haven't played before or for some time or you do not have a racquet as there will be ones available. With refreshments provided, all they ask is you come and enjoy the afternoon.
To help encourage new members to see how enjoyable the sport is and with minimal outlay, the club are again offering a 'Taster' membership for April and May for just £20.00. If, as we hope, you wish to then extend your membership this amount will be deducted from the annual subscription.
Due to increased membership, the club have this year set aside Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6.30pm onwards and Sunday mornings from 10.30am for social tennis where everyone mixes in. In addition, they have also entered four teams in the Gainsborough evening leagues for the coming season offering ample opportunity for all members to play competitive tennis at their appropriate level.
The club are delighted to have retained coach, Tim Taylor, for 2017. Tim is a highly-experienced LTA Level 3 coach who perfectly meets the Clubs' aim is to offer quality coaching at a reasonable price. Tim provides three, one-hour coaching groups on Saturday afternoons for junior, intermediate and adult players for £4.00 per person per session. He will also be on-hand on the open day to offer advice to any prospective new members.
Anyone signing up for eight coaching lessons costing £32.00 will also be entitled to an £10.00 discount off their membership which, this year costs £85.00 for adults (£40.00 for 'off-peak') and £20.00 for intermediates and juniors.
